Welcome to “HORIZONS” the 4th
Philippine Mind & Body Conference!
We
extend our warm welcome to the delegates, or shall we say ‘seekers’, who have
been with us from “East meets West”, to “Ripples”, to “Flow”. We appreciate
your sticking with us and your openness to mind-body knowledge.
We
welcome you, who haven’t experienced a Mind & Body Conference. What is in
store for you? We carefully planned a selection of mind-body sessions in three
categories: Learning, Movement, and Healing; ranging from Meditation, Breathing
for Mind & Body, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Sheng Zhen Qi Gong, Intuitive Healing,
the Dorn Method, the Bowen Technique, Acupuncture, Chi Dance, Pain
Management, Holistic Health, Anatomy of Stress, Life
Coaching, and a lot of other mind-body choices!
Choices
. . . by now, you may have noticed a subtle change in your preferences,
lifestyle considerations, and health concerns. I can assure you, it doesn’t
impact everyone – and in some, these changes may not be so subtle – but it IS a
growing phenomenon. We believe the best choice is usually an informed choice.
Let’s take STRESS, for example. The prevalence of stress-related dis-eases is
mounting. How do you reduce, or at least control, your stress levels? Consider
this question: Do you feel sitting in passive, mindful awareness helpful? Then,
start with Meditation or proper Breathing. On the other hand, if you have a
more active spirit, you may opt for mindful movement in the form of Yoga,
Pilates, Tai Chi or Qi Gong, or even Chi Dance. They all address the
challenges of stress; plus, each modality imparts its own share of added
benefits.
This
year, we are featuring topics on Fitness for professionals and enthusiasts,
Sports & Athletics, Dance, and Martial Arts. Martial Arts in a mind-body conference? Yes, we have carefully
screened our featured martial arts to include those with a mind-body
connection, such as: Aikido, Arnis, Capoeira, Pekiti Tirsia Kali, and Kalimasada: Energy Manipulation.
You
are welcome to browse through our Conference Schedule and feel which sessions
may work for you. Read through the session descriptions, and who will be presenting
the topic. We have done our best to gather the best resources, or ‘guides’, to
impart the essential knowledge that you may make an informed choice.
Be
informed, get involved, and make a commitment! As the motivators say, “In ham
and eggs, the chicken was involved but the pig was committed.”
In
the end, the choice is up to you.
Welcome
and Namaste! Love and Light!
